APHRODISIAS TOUR - FULL DAY

Spectacularly preserved, yet unspoiled. Close to major marble sources, prolific Aphrodisian work - shops exported sculpture throughout the Roman Empire. Outstanding collection of finds exhibited in the well appointed site museum. The imposing structures seen today are mainly Roman (late second century B. C. to second century A. D.).
Highlights - the long known Temple of Aphrodite and the 30,000 person stadium, as well as the more recently excavated Sebasteion complex, the elegant Odeum, an 8,000 seat theater in remarkable condition (L).
