Set aside some time to climb the Sandima, it is well worth it. You will reach Sandıma village, located to the South of the Partipanaz rocks, through a road adorned with olive trees that seem to be falling over, and hear the unique bird song. The village that was first constructed by master workmen coming from Istankoy, has a history going back 600 years. When you turn to face the amazing panorama, the volcanic rocks on your right will make you think about the geological events that once took place here.

The Sandima villages is entirely abandoned due to the exodus of the inhabitants to ‘’Yalı’’ in 1960 because of citrus fruit plantations and developments in tourism there. Now, only nature embraces the ruins of the buildings and a few special people reside here in Sandıma: Among these are two brothers who resisted leaving the village they were born in, and a couple who paint and sculpt have established an art gallery and a cafe with a great deal of effort. Have a break at the Sanat Cafe and rest for a while. You will get acquainted with artists who have turned a ruin into a labyrinth of arts, drink a cup of herbal tea and definitely rest in this tranquil ambience.
